As we enter our sixteenth year of service to the Macomb County community, we are so gratified to be able to work with churches, businesses and individuals throughout the area as we expand our efforts to provide safe, decent affordable housing to hardworking families in need. Among our efforts this year, Macomb Country Habitat for Humanity will be:
* Building over a dozen new homes in partnership with our homeowners, revitalizing communities in Clinton Township, Eastpointe, Roseville, Sterling Heights and Warren.
* Rehabilitating abandoned, foreclosed and distressed properties throughout Macomb County, preserving vibrant neighborhoods from decline.
* Working with Dakota and Van Dyke High School's Building Trades programs to house two families who would otherwise be living in unsafe, overcrowded or unsanitary conditions.
* Moving to new locations and expanding our Administrative and ReStore facilities significantly.
By the end of 2009, Macomb County Habitat for Humanity will have housed 13 new families; providing simple and secure shelter sold on zero-interest terms to these homeowner partners who will close next fall on homes they have built themselves, with support from volunteers and donors like you. We are on track to make great strides this year: Doubling our build capacity, while maintaining a perfect record of homeownership for our partner families, We welcome your support, your involvement and your ideas.
