More about Habitat...

Habitat's History:

Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller in Americus, Georgia with the purpose of providing low-income families a unique opportunity for home ownership. The concept worked so well that it was expanded throughout the United States and is now a worldwide phenomenon. Its popularity has been enhanced by the endorsement of many prominent people, including former president Jimmy Carter.

Macomb's Mission:

Macomb County Habitat for Humanity's one and only goal is to eliminate substandard housing in Macomb County. Through Macomb Habitat, decent affordable housing is made possible for low-income families.   To date (1/1/2007), 37 homes in Macomb neighborhoods, housing a total of 43 adults and 90 children, have been completed.
