Great support from
municipalities, churches, businesses, service groups,
two school districts and individuals gave us the funds
to be able to build more homes in 2009 than ever before.
Over 2000 volunteers lent a hand to build 11 homes in
Clinton Twp., Roseville, Sterling Heights and Warren –
all decent, affordable, energy efficient homes for 13
adults and 20 children. 2010 will start many rehab
projects on foreclosed homes, plus 7 or so new home
builds, to help even more families. So we are looking
for more working families to apply, and lots of
volunteers to make a difference.
At the end of November,
our Board of Directors asked me to step in as Interim
Executive Director, to lead the affiliate into the
challenges of 2010. I have volunteered with Macomb
Habitat since 1995, and have served on staff as Church
Relations Director since January, 2007. I look forward
to leading the Habitat team to strengthen our work with
volunteers, homeowners and many others working together
to give new foundations for families in Macomb County.
Thanks for your prayers
and the many ways that you have helped Macomb Habitat in
2009. Blessings as you help others around you in 2010
through Macomb Habitat.
